Fodder Feed System Solution Growth Facility

Most of the videos on this first page are attributed to helping people build their own inexpensive fodder system. We are building a very large system out of lumbar, plywood, apoxie waterproofing solution, and the pumping timed hydroponic water system. We are including all these videos on the site so that people can follow along and get an Idea how they can benefit from their own fodder production without paying thousands for a professional system. Although, if you would rather just purchase a pro system we have those for sale also. We offer a few different systems that are catered and priced to fit your individual needs.

  1. I am interested in purchasing a Fodder system capable of producing enough feed for 4 horse per day. Can you also give me a price quote on a 2 horse system as well. Thanks.

    • A 12 tray system will feed 2 horses. A 24 Tray system will feed 4 horses. 24 Tray $610 The 12 Tray is $315.00

      • So, how does that work exactly? A 12 tray system will feed 2 horses…. Does each horse eat 6 trays of fodder each day? I’m trying to figure out the rhythm here… because I’ve heard that the fodder goes form “seed” to “feed” in about 7 days. Therefore, can this 12 tray system be used to feed 2 horses every day forever once a proper cycle is implemented? I’m sorry if this is a dumb question, I’m just learning. :) Thank you!

        • In a 12 tray system you actually harvest 2 trays a day. It takes 6 days to produce the harvest. That gives your other trays a stagger to make sure you have two trays to harvest every day, and you make sure that every tray is harvested every 6 days. Does this make sense. I know it can be kinda confusing when you start learning about these things.

  2. I have 2 milk cows,2 feeder calves at about 800 lbs. 2 baby calves, 3 feeder pigs and 8 chickens, what size of unit will I need to have enough fodder for my animals?

    • An 18 Tray system Should feed all of those animals with Ease

  3. Easy to understand,I like it! welcome to visit my site: http://www.frdoudounem0ncler.com/

  4. I have 5 horses, 8 pygmy goats, and some chickens and 2 pot belly pigs. What size would i need and what is the cost for the unit. I want the one already built. Also about what does it cost to run it.

    • A 24 Tray system should supply you with enough feed. The 24 tray system will cost $630.00 and will supply you with 60 pounds of fodder a day. I would need a weight on all 5 horses and pigs to be sure, but I am guessing that they are around 1000 pounds a piece. That system comes already built. Barley seed is about 35 cents a pound and each tray takes 2.5 pounds.

  5. Where are you located? The best price I have seen for barley out here is $15/50# bag.

    • Here in Idaho Falls, ID, you can get a 100 pound bag for 13.50.

  6. This article is a great help to me! Thank you! You have to go places http://www.onlinetvsoftware.net/

  7. I have about 30 hogs what would it take to feed them?

    • The 12 tray system produces 30 pounds a day. That might be a great amount if your hogs are all about 100 pounds.

  8. i am feeding 20 head of paint and quarter horses all ages including breeding stallions and mares and useing a little over a ton of hay a week how many trays will i need to eliminate the hay totally

    • You would want about 126 trays. That many trays would produce 315 pounds of fodder a day. That should feed all of your horses.

      • how much money and space will be needed for a 130 tray systom and does it requiere a bulding of its own to keep it from freezing during the winter here in spokane wa.

  13. still need to know the price of a 130 tray system and if it needs to be housed in a building to prevent freezing

    • There would actually be 132 trays worth of fodder feed system and it would run $3175.00. It would need to be housed in a building of some kind to prevent freezing and over heating.

      • ok thankyou for the price on the 132tray system and my next question is how big of a build ing and how well insulated will it require??
and how long does the seed wheat and barley) need to soak befor they are sped out in the tray is this time figured into the 6 days

    John

    • It just needs to be insulated enough to keep it between 65 and 75 degrees. The system will come in 8 18 tray increments. Each increment is 3′x 2′ and 72″ tall. The entire system will take up 48 square feet and be 4′ wide by 12′ long.

      Thanks

      • ok great you have answered alot of my questions but now i have a few more you said 8units of 18 this would be a 144 tray unit that is a little bit bigger then the 132 tray unit but i wouold rather have to much feed then not enough.will corn work and how much lead time do you need to make this sestym

  29. I have 3 horses, a six month old colt, and a 3 month old filly. How big of a unit would I need? Are the units hard to build?

    • Sorry, I see your other comment. I would go with a 54 tray system. The units aren’t hard to build they are just very time consuming and you have to buy everything in bulk from my experience.

  30. I also have a steer. He probably weighs around 600-700 lbs. The horses are around 1200 lbs apiece.

    • Fodder is great for all those animals. Are you wondering what size of system to buy?
